Liberia’s electoral commission is already working on a much-reduced budget but is still not receiving its full allocated funding from the government, thus becoming more dependent on foreign donors. Even if the incumbent president wins re-election, which is most probable despite his failing popularity, opposition parties would be likely to undermine the legitimacy of the vote, due to the electoral process issues.
