The first ever joint military operation between Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso indicates that more coastal West African countries fear Islamist militant attacks on their cities as insurgent and terrorist groups use the coronavirus emergency to stage more brazen attacks in the Sahel and again move southwards to the Gulf of Guinea.
