The government has made several significant announcements and policy initiatives that are aimed at attracting foreign and local private investors into Tanzania’s LNG, mining, and infrastructure sectors, in a reversal of its previous economic nationalist ideology. As a result, the ruling party is being shaken up and rival factions are competing for influence, although a gradual shift to more business-friendly policies is expected to continue and thus support Tanzania’s economic recovery trajectory.
