Since the end of March 2020, Zambian troops have occupied several towns in the resource rich provinces of Tanganyika and Haut-Katanga in the DRC, prompting regional authorities from SADC and elsewhere to intervene. As conflict negotiations currently take place in Lubumbashi as does a virtual summit of SADC, EXX Africa reviews the situation on the ground amid broader threats in the region.
