Following shock legislative election results, cash-strapped Kuwait may run out of reserve funds to cover its fiscal shortfall by early next year, unless the new government can pass a bill that would allow it to tap international debt markets. Political and economic weakness at home, will erode the new Emir’s ability to mediate regional disputes, such as ending the Qatar blockade.
